Our team invests heavily into R&D (Research & Development). Each and every product you see on our site took months of research, prototyping and testing before finally presented to you. All of our collections are unique and fully customized, using only the best raw materials in the making and final production.

What is the difference between each of the collections?

•       INTIMACY™ DE’NETTE COLLECTION was designed for natural afro textured hair.

•       INTIMACY™ HIGH STANDARD COLLECTION was designed to achieve more sleek and wavy hairstyles that are popular and in demand.

•       INTIMACY™ IVY COLLECTION was designed for Eurasian hair types that are naturally straight or wavy.

What’s the difference between Human Hair, Remy and Donor Hair?

 The difference between the three may be a bit blurry. Essentially, they all come from donors, but their quality and production are NOT the same.

Human Hair and Remy Hair extensions are both processed in the production phase to have the hair feel silky and smooth. This lasts for about 2-3 washes then the hair gets frizzy, tangled, and unmanageable. The hair comes from multiple donors whose hair would have previously been chemically treated.

Remy Hair is the better of the two because the cuticles are aligned in the same direction to avoid additional traction between with the hair follicles. It is coated in silicone to keep it smoother for longer. However, this too starts to frizz, tangle and often break after a few months of use.

Donor Hair on the other hand, is different. Whereas the hair comes from donors whose hair has never been bleached, dyes or chemically treated.

Each bundle comes from a single donor meaning that there is not any mixing of hair types. This ensures that follicles are cohesive and genetically “work well together”.  As a result, donor hair experiences little to no tangling, no friction between hair cuticles as they’re all aligned in the same direction.

The hair ultimately lasts longer since the raw material is of the highest available standard.

How long does Intimacy Hair Collection’s hair last?

Each of our current collections are made with the exact same raw material. That is, pure, raw unprocessed donor hair. With proper maintenance and care your INTIMACY ™ hair can be reused and last you several years.

Intimacy De’Nette is 100% Raw Donor Virgin Hair.  It’s longevity can last at least a year or longer, depending on the maintenance and care given. Some of our Clients that have been wearing their Intimacy De’Nette Clip Ins for 2 years.

Intimacy High Standard is also 100% Raw Donor Virgin Hair.  It’s longevity can last anywhere between 1 – 3 years or longer depending on the maintenance and care given. Some of clients that have been wearing their Intimacy High standard hair for over 4 years. 

 Intimacy x BRAND AMBASSADORS is 100% Raw Donor Virgin Hair.  It’s longevity can last anywhere between 1 – 3 years or longer depending on the maintenance and care given. 

Does Intimacy Hair Collection hair extensions shed?

With all hair, including your own; you will experience some shedding. But we have customized our hair extensions so that your shedding experience would be very minimal.

To avoid shedding or breakage due to the hair drying out we recommend that you regularly deep condition the hair extensions. In addition, use a wide tooth comb starting from bottom upwards while detangling.

How do I match textures with my natural hair?

How many Clip – Ins or Bundles would I need for a full head?

For each Collection it varies.

Clip-Ins

DE’NETTE COLLECTION

•       The Clip In sets 12”- 20” each have 7 clips,

•       The Clip In sets 22”-24” each have 6 clips

•      To achieve a “Natural Look” 2 sets are recommended; for a “Fuller Voluminous Look” 3 sets are recommended.

•       However, for interchangeable/diverse and or fuller looks, we suggest that you get 3 packs of the INTIMACY DE’NETTE Clip Ins.

•       We also suggest getting various lengths (e.g. 16” & 18” clip-ins)– this helps with giving you the desired layers and fullness.

  HIGH STANDARD COLLECTION

•       The Clip Ins in this COLLECTION varies. Standard and Intimacy Klaudia Clip Ins.

•       Our standard Clip Ins comes with 10 Clips varying in density. For a Natural look (160 grams) for a fuller look (180 grams) for a voluminous look (220 grams)

•       Our Intimacy Klaudia Clip In Layering System comes with 3 lengths 16”, 18” & 20” totaling 12 clips and come in the density of 200 grams.

•       Only one pack is necessary in both the Standard and Intimacy Klaudia the Clip Ins.

  IVY COLLECTION

•       The Clip Ins in the IVY COLLECTION varies in densities.

•       Only one pack is necessary.

•       For a natural look (160 grams) for a fuller look (180 grams) for a voluminous look (220 grams).

   

Bundles or Wefted Hair

 DE’NETTE COLLECTION & HIGH STANDARD COLLECTION

•       When purchasing bundles lengths ranging from 12”-18” 2 bundles along with a Frontal are recommended for a full head.

•       Lengths ranging from 20”-24” 3 bundles along with a Frontal are recommended for a full head.

•       When purchasing bundles lengths ranging from 12”-18” 3 bundles along with a Closure are recommended for a full head.

•       Lengths ranging from 20”-24” 4 bundles along with a Closure are recommended for a full head.

Is the Intimacy De’Nette hair versatile enough for me to manipulate it like my natural hair?

The Intimacy DE’NETTE hair is very versatile allowing you to easily manipulate it into your desired hairstyle.  It can be twisted, braided, curled, defined , even bantu knotted.

Textures can also be straightened; however, it is recommended to keep the use of hot styling tools to a minimum. When using hot tools, a heat protectant of your choice is always a good choice to prevent or lessen any damages that may occur.

Can I swim with my Clip Ins in salt water or Chlorine?

Chlorine and salt water are known to dry out your natural hair. your INTIMACY™ extensions are no exception as it too is human hair and reacts as such.Swimming will not cause any damage to the hair, however, it will cause the hair to dry out. When swimming, it is best to wear a swimming cap when possible.If, for whatever reason you are unable to do so, it is recommended to wash and condition your extensions to put back moisture lost while swimming. 

Can I sleep in my extensions?

You can certainly sleep in your extensions, whether they are clip-ins, ponytails or bundles. Sleeping in your extensions will not cause any damage to the hair. However, when sleeping with clip-ins, some sliding of the clips may occur. In such cases, re-secure the clips when styling.

**DISCLAIMER** if your own natural hair is fine and fragile it is not recommended to sleep with the clip-ins. This is to avoid any traction to your own hair that may occur while moving in your sleep.

Can I color, dye or bleach the hair extension?

All of our collections are made from 100% RAW DONOR so therefore can be colored, dyed or bleached to your liking with no immediate damage.If you wish to chemically treat the hair please consult a licensed hair stylist to avoid over processing, as this will affect the integrity and longevity of the hair.This applies especially for our DE’NETTE collection as it is **HIGH MAINTENANCE**

Can I use heat or hot styling tools on the hair?

We do not mix or blend any of our products with synthetic fibers. Each collection is made with 100% RAW DONOR HAIR. You can use heat to manipulate the hair to your liking.

However, excessive use of hot styling tools not only causes damage to hair curl patterns and cuticles; but also causes breakage due to heat damage. In the event you must use hot tools, use in conjunction with a heat protectant.

Length Chart

 Please note the length chart is a reference for the hair in its natural state.  The hair is measured in a stretched state before texture is added.

How do I wash or clean my hair extensions?

1.     When washing, saturate the hair fully with water before applying any product to cleanse.

2.     While shampooing, stroke the hair gently working you fingers through. Starting from the tip moving upwards helps to loosen any knots that may have occurred while wearing.  (This method helps to avoid tangling).

3.     After thoroughly cleansing, follow up with a conditioner or deep conditioner of your choice making sure to fully saturate the hair with the product to optimal results.

4.     The hair may also be detangled at this phase if needed. Please ensure to use a wide tooth comb and detangle from tip to root, taking care to not apply excessive force, causing breakage to the hair.

Hair Care- How do I take care of my Intimacy extensions?

INTIMACY™ DE’NETTE COLLECTION - HIGH MAINTENANCE

To protect and increase the longevity of your investment MAINTENANCE is absolutely necessary. 

The INTIMACY DE’NETTE™ is a high maintenance collection and to maintain the integrity of the hair, you must maintain it on a daily basis.

INTIMACY™ HIGH STANDARD COLLECTION - LOW MAINTENANCE

To protect and increase the longevity of your investment maintenance is absolutely necessary. 

Although the Intimacy High Standard is a low maintenance collection, it is like your own hair and you must treat it as such – by maintaining it on a daily basis.

INTIMACY™ IVY COLLECTION - LOW MAINTENANCE

To protect and increase the longevity of your investment maintenance is absolutely necessary. 

Although the Intimacy High Standard is a low maintenance collection, it is like your own hair and you must treat it as such – by maintaining it on a daily basis.

Shedding and Breakage

•  (De’Nette Collection) To avoid breakage, do not comb the hair when dry. 

• To avoid shedding you can request that your stylist not cut the wefts. Instead use the fold over method when doing installs

• The wefts can also be sealed to minimize and keep shedding at bay.

·      Excessive use of hot styling tools causes damage to the hair cuticles which could result in breakage. In the event you must use hot tools, use in conjunction with a heat protectant.

Tangling

·      Tangling can be caused by over processing when dying or bleaching the hair. 

·      Although the Intimacy High Standard can be chemically processed with no immediate damage, it is not recommended as this will affect the integrity and longevity of the hair.

·      Product buildup –to avoid build up, weekly or biweekly washes are recommended. This also reduces tangling, which also contributes to shedding.

·      Deep condition the hair for 15 – 20 minutes.  Always use quality products for best results.

Is Intimacy Hair Collection a Black Owned Business?

Yes it is a Black Owned Business. Intimacy Hair Collection is owned and founded by Bahamian Jazz Singer Akia Knowles and Co-founded by Hairstylist and Makeup Artist Leisa Grant.

Do you offer/sell sample textures or can we see the hair in person?

We only offer a sample kit to distributors of the Intimacy Hair Collection Brand. For more details please email us at info@intimacyhaircollection.com.

How much is shipping and how long does it take to receive my order?

Shipping depends on your location and ranges from $18 - $55.  Most orders are shipped out from our Hong Kong Head office.  We ship 5 days a week using DHL as our carrier.

Business days are Monday- Friday

Orders will be processed during business days (weekends and holidays are not considered business days). Orders placed on a weekend will be processed the next business day. Similarly, we do not ship orders during the weekend. All orders are shipped during business days

Once payment is received, you will receive a confirmation email that your order is being processed. It will take up to 2 business days to process your order.  Please allow up to 2 business days for orders to be processed (weekends and holidays are not considered business days).

Please Ensure that all details provided are accurate and completed; if not, it may delay processing by an additional 1-2 business days. We encourage all customers to thoroughly review their shipping and billing information prior to checking out to avoid any possible delays.

Due to our new fraud prevention policies, we are unable to ship your order until we verify final details.  Once details are verified your order will be shipped

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an additional email with the tracking link and photos of your order .

Please note that processing time varies from order to order; based on items purchased.

Every item is customized to perfection therefore production takes up to 5-7 business days.

Kindly note once shipped, all orders are within the possession of DHL carrier. Any queries concerning package location, delivery delay or other relative issues we advise first contacting your local DHL office or accessing their website to make any such enquiries.

How can I track my order?

You will receive a confirmation email that will include your tracking number and a link once your order has been shipped to the e-mail address provided at the time of checkout. 

Please note that this can take between 24-36 hours. If there is a problem with your tracking number or package delivery, please contact the courier directly prior to contacting us.

Please allow 1 - 4 days for the tracking information to show. In some rare case, the tracking information may not update, but you will still receive your order. Please feel free to contact us after the estimated delivery time.

Do you have an exchange, returns and refund policies?

If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we're here to help.

·      You have 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.

·      To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it for sanitary and health purposes.

·      Your item must also be in the original packaging.

·      Your item also needs to have the receipt or proof of purchase.

Refunds

We currently do not offer refunds.

In the event you are not pleased with your purchase and wish to return an item, we offer store credit or exchange.

Once we receive your item, we will notify you and begin the inspection process.

Once approved, we will issue store credit or exchange (based on request) 

*Any tax or duty fees incurred will not be refunded or compensated for as these funds go directly to the state or governing bodies in the area of which you reside.

Express shipping options and any other third-party fees are non-refundable.

How can I cancel my order?

To cancel an order, please email info@intimacyhaircollection.com within 24 hours of placing the order. We cannot guarantee a cancelation will be granted after 24 hours has passed.
